Our mission is to harness the power of games to educate, transform, and change minds. 1st Playable Productions is a NY LLC, founded in April 2005, with the mission of applying games to education. The size of the workforce is currently near 40 people, including programmers, artists, and game designers. The company is a small, WBENC certified woman-owned business, and is also a B Corporation. During the 11 years since its founding, the 1st Playable team has developed a strong reputation of delivering quality games on-time, with a focus on games that require significant collaboration with subject matter experts or brand holders. We are experienced developers who have worked together for years on top titles, with a track record of delivering to aggressive deadlines. But it's not just what you do, it's how you do it. We are a community-oriented game studio, modeled on the principles of social entrepreneurship. All of us volunteer time and energy to build community and educational organizations. We believe in balancing our passion: from developing engaging and fun games for kids, to spearheading new product research that will create a generation of educationally oriented games to inspire and engage kids of all ages.
