504HealthNet is a collaborative of 26 organizations in the Greater New Orleans (GNO) region, working to ensure that all people are able to enjoy a high quality of life and wellbeing by strengthening the safety net health care system. 504HealthNet works with policymakers to make health insurance enrollment easier and more inclusive, and to make primary and behavioral health care more accessible and affordable. By doing this, 504HealthNet decreases the number of uninsured residents, and increases the number of vulnerable populations receiving quality care in the GNO region. This is particularly important for the GNO region where there are approximately 146,600 people who are uninsured, making it difficult for them to access primary care and behavioral health services. Those without health insurance can receive care at one of 504HealthNet’s 28 member organizations that provide primary and behavioral health care irrespective of a patient’s ability to pay. Member health centers also accept public and private insurance and offer payment plans based on a sliding scale with a specific focus on low income, uninsured populations.
