Christopher E. Grimes and Leigh Cavich-Grimes started 5414 Productions LLC in 2008 with the goal of building a small independent, production company  focused exclusively on documentaries that deal with complex issues in public policy from both a macro and micro perspective.  From 5414 Productions inception, Cinematographer and Editor Travis Edwards has been an integral part of the success of company.  

In April 2013, Christopher , Leigh, and Travis made the bold decision to create a new non-profit entity: 5414 Productions, Inc. This change will allow us to maintain 5414's original mission of producing educational documentaries that deal with complex issues in public policy, while allowing us to reach a much broader pool of financial resources, including grants and donations. 

5414 Productions, Inc. is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation.

We have filed our 501(c)3 federal tax-exempt application with the IRS and assuming the application is approved, donations to 5414 Productions, Inc. will qualify for a charitable income tax deduction under applicable law.  Besides the new educational documentaries that we currently have in production, in the coming months 5414 Productions, Inc. will be announcing new ways in which we will be engaging our local communities including our new "5414 in the Classroom" program.
