A-R Editions is a music-focused publishing company based in Middleton, Wisconsin, with a long-standing specialty in scholarly editions and historical music research. Its core offering centers on high-quality, carefully prepared publications that preserve and illuminate music from diverse Western traditions, including works by composers less widely known but historically significant. The company emphasizes rigorous editorial and engraving standards, pairing peer review with detailed discussions of historical context and performance practice to support scholars, performers, and students.

Its Recent Researches in Music series anchors its catalog, reflecting work that covers multiple periods and sources—some predating modern printing and commercial sheet music. A-R Editions traces its roots to 1962, linked to Yale University founders Gary Aamodt and Clyde Rykken, and operates from the Madison area with a staff dedicated to scholarly music publishing, including ongoing leadership changes in recent years.
