A2SV Foundation, known as Africa to Silicon Valley, is a higher‑education nonprofit that provides free tech education to high‑potential African university students. The program aims to develop participants into software engineers, tech entrepreneurs, and innovators who can contribute to Africa's technological and socio‑economic development. Talent is identified through partnerships with leading African universities, and graduates are connected with opportunities from major employers such as Google, Bloomberg, Amazon, and Meta; the organization also operates an incubator that hires its strongest alumni to develop digital projects addressing Africa's challenges. Over the past five years, the program has trained more than 800 students, including about 600 in Ethiopia and 200 from across 20 African countries, and it has secured over 100 job offers from global tech companies. It has organized Africa's largest hackathon for two consecutive years, drawing more than 4,900 participants from 48 African countries to address real-world problems with AI. Based in Palo Alto, California, the organization sits at the intersection of higher education and startup incubation, contributing to Africa's tech ecosystem.
