The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) is a non-profit organization founded in 1917 and based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with offices in Washington, D.C.; London; Bahrain; and Singapore. Its mission has long included fostering scientific research, advancing geology, promoting technology, and upholding high professional conduct, and these aims continue to guide the association today. AAPG serves geoscientists and the broader public by providing publications, conferences, and educational opportunities, and by disseminating current geological information. Its membership includes about 35,000 professionals in 120 countries working in the upstream energy industry, who rely on the network the organization maintains to collaborate and share knowledge.
