AATSP Exams, also known as the National Spanish Examinations, is a nonprofit program operated under the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). It provides online, standardized assessments for K–12 students studying Spanish and/or Portuguese. These assessments are voluntarily administered by more than 4,000 teachers across the United States to gauge students' proficiency and classroom achievement. The program offers several assessments: the National Spanish Exam for middle-to-high school, the National Portuguese Exam for middle-to-high school, the National Spanish Challenge for elementary-to-middle school, and the National Spanish Assessment to help teachers monitor progress throughout the school year. The organization is based in Chesterton, Indiana, and serves U.S. schools as part of its role in supporting language education and assessment.
