Academic Experiences Abroad (AEA) designs customized faculty-led study programs across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and portions of Africa, Oceania, and the Caribbean. Programs are crafted to meet the specific needs of clients, offering flexibility in when they run, what is studied, the duration, and what is included. The organization collaborates with a broad range of educational institutions, from large public universities to smaller private schools, community colleges, and city programs, and it maintains a focus on helping first-time initiatives get off the ground.

Based in Portland, Oregon, AEA operates in the travel arrangements sector as a design-focused provider of customized academic travel experiences rather than a typical tour operator. It serves educational institutions seeking faculty-led programs that align with their curricula, supported by a small team that can tailor offerings to diverse campus needs.
