The Academy of the Holy Angels is an independent college preparatory school for young women, founded in 1879 by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. It is the oldest private school in Bergen County and sits on a 24-acre campus in Demarest, New Jersey. Originally known as Holy Angels Collegiate Institute, the academy now enrolls students from 96 cities and towns across New Jersey and New York. Serving students from diverse communities, the school supports preparation for higher education while welcoming a range of ethnic, religious, and community backgrounds. In October 2023, Holy Angels was recognized with the Governor's Thomas Edison Award for excellence in STEM education.
