The Achievement School District (ASD) is a statewide turnaround school district—one that provides the necessary strategies, resources and support to improve persistently low performing schools. The ASD was created by Tennessee law to improve student outcomes at Priority Schools, which are defined as schools in the bottom five percent (5%) in Tennessee. Schools that become a part of the ASD are managed by selected school operators who are charged with implementing intervention plans that are closely monitored by the Achievement School District. The ASD's goal is to turn around Priority Schools and return them to their local education agency in the expansive work to improve outcomes for all students. Our charter partners currently include Aspire Public Schools, Cornerstone Prep, Green Dot Public Schools, KIPP Memphis, LEAD Public Schools, Project GRAD, USA and Rocketship Education.
