ACI EUROPE is a Brussels-based trade association representing the European aviation sector, focusing on airports. It counts more than 600 airports across 55 countries among its members, who collectively handle the majority of Europe’s commercial air traffic. The organization emphasizes the importance of air transport to the economy, noting about 14 million jobs and roughly €851 billion in activity, equating to around 5% of European GDP. In 2019, its members committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions for operations under their control by 2050, without offsetting. Based in Brussels, the association acts as a coordinating body within Europe’s airport ecosystem. In December 2025, ACI EUROPE, in partnership with EUROCONTROL, issued guidance on risk assessment and adaptation to climate change to help airports, airlines, and air navigation service providers prepare for escalating climate impacts.
