Act One Pictures operates as the production arm of Voice & Video, a longstanding Southern California provider of audio-visual services dating back to 1973. Following a 1980 management change, Voice & Video shifted toward sales and repair of audio and video equipment, and Act One Pictures moved to its current San Diego location in June 2006 after being acquired by Kathleen St. Peter and Robert Borer. Since then, management has broadened the equipment list to cover older formats as well as the latest technologies, including film transfer equipment and a small in-house recording studio along with an additional edit suite. Act One Pictures offers video production and editing services, along with video and audio transfer and conversion. The company also provides DVD, CD, and tape duplication and replication, as well as photography and graphic art services from its in-house studio. Based in San Diego, California, it operates with a small team delivering end-to-end production and post-production support.
