Activities Beyond the Classroom’s mission is to ensure that Cincinnati Public Schools students participate in activities beyond the classroom that help them develop the skills they need to succeed in life. We provide the necessary support for every CPS student to engage in extracurricular activities throughout the year. ABC serves over 15,000 students each year.

Activities Beyond the Classroom started in 2004 as a booster club for the athletic departments of Cincinnati Public Schools high schools, and has grown into a district-wide organization that provides more extracurricular and enrichment programs to CPS students than any other organization in the city. Throughout the years, ABC has continuously stepped up to the plate whenever support was needed for extracurricular activities, whether by expanding its partnership with CPS, adding new programs to the ABC portfolio, or offering guidance and fiscal sponsorship to outside programs.

In the world of public education, ABC is considered to be a leader in creating a sustainable model of a public and nonprofit partnership. We excel at managing collaboration, at filling in gaps that public schools aren’t able to fill, and at bringing various groups together to meet common goals.

ABC’s goals fall under three main categories:

-CPS Partnership: Partner with Cincinnati Public Schools to develop, administer, and/or manage extracurricular and enrichment programming at CPS schools

-Administrative Support: Provide back-end, administrative, and fiscal sponsorship support to community entities and programs that benefit CPS students, and partner with those entities to deliver their programs to CPS schools

-ABC Programs: Develop new and original extracurricular programs that meet the needs of Cincinnati Public students
