By the age of five he was already drawing profiles and sections of boats depicting interior arrangements. Being interested in everything around him and feeding an intense desire to learn, Adam began finding and creating connections with disparate ideas and elements.
As the studio pursues a fascination with the convergence between the built and natural environment, the yacht has come to represent this pinnacle of design. The challenge is enormous as a yacht must respond to the demands of architecture, transportation, environment, and materiality. Above all, a yacht is a complete experience that inspires the interaction between human and nature. These interdependent and essential relationships require design that adapts and transforms to reflect the dynamic context of its surroundings. Exploring new territories in design allows Adam Voorhees to define future yachting contexts and landscapes.
