The Adaptation Fund is an international affairs organization that supports climate change adaptation and resilience initiatives worldwide. Since 2010 it has committed roughly US$1.1 billion to adaptation projects and programmes, delivering more than 165 localized initiatives in the world's most vulnerable developing communities and reaching over 43 million beneficiaries. It also introduced Direct Access, a mechanism that allows countries to access funding and design and implement projects through accredited national entities. Headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia, the fund works with governments, implementing entities, and local partners to strengthen resilience to climate impacts. It has continued to expand its capacity-building offerings, including launching an e-learning course on Locally Led Adaptation in 2025 to help stakeholders access and utilize small grant programs, and is actively developing an enhanced readiness strategy as part of its ongoing readiness program.
