Adaptive Sports Foundation, founded in 1984, is a nonprofit organization that offers outdoor physical activity, education, support, and community experiences for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities and chronic illnesses. Its programs are designed for individuals aged five and older living with disabilities ranging from learning differences to paralysis, autism, amputation, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury. Based in Windham, New York, ASF runs winter recreational activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, yoga, and personal fitness, and it supports a competitive race team along with a 12-week residential program for Paralympic-eligible athletes.\n\nASF has also developed Warriors in Motion to promote wellness among troops injured in recent conflicts. In March 2026, ASF partnered with the Chelsea Piers Foundation to launch Move Together Apart, a free virtual adaptive fitness program enabling participants to stay active from home.
