Adirondack Regional FCU is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative that has served communities in northern New York since 1947. Originating to support employees of the Sunmount Veterans Hospital in Tupper Lake, it now operates branches in Tupper Lake, Potsdam, and Plattsburgh to serve more than 7,000 members across Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence, and Clinton counties, offering a full suite of financial services such as checking and savings accounts, auto and personal loans, mortgages, and financial counseling, with federal insurance provided by the NCUA. The organization emphasizes a community-focused approach and a commitment to improving members’ financial well-being, supported by assets in the mid eight-figure range. In 2022, the credit union launched a low-interest auto-loan program, North Country Moves, and partnered with the United Way of the Adirondack Region and the ALICE Steering Committee to administer a revolving loan fund aimed at helping low-income individuals obtain transportation to work.
