The Administrative Conference of the United States is an independent federal agency focused on improving the federal administrative process through consensus-driven applied research and nonpartisan guidance on agency procedures. Its membership comprises senior officials from roughly fifty federal departments and agencies and independent regulatory boards, together with a diverse slate of public members. The Conference aims to foster more effective public participation and greater efficiency in rulemaking by promoting open communication, leveraging interactive technologies, reducing unnecessary litigation, and improving the use of science and applicable laws. It is based in Washington, DC. In June 2026, ACUS announced the appointment of Michael Fragoso as a public member, effective July 1, 2026.
