Advanced Fabric Technologies, LLC (AFT) engineers, designs and manufactures auxetic solutions in material systems. Auxetic fabrics offer better strength and energy absorption than conventional materials across commercial, industrial, textile and medical industries. AFT has 4 generations of its Trademark Xtegra fabric which currently provide protection for high value equipment and people. Some applications include offshore rig high pressure manifolds, industrial test bays, security fencing and bomb/blast/frag containment. AFT also provides complete product development from understanding and prioritizing customer’s requirements; developing numerical and analytical models to allow rapid evaluation and optimization of the most cost effective design; prototype development and testing to prove the suitability of the design; and full scale production. AFT’s high-traction senior staff have decades of research and product development experience. The company has provided engineering solutions for Shell, GE Oil & Gas, BP, Chevron, Total, Ensco, Diamond Offshore, Transocean, Dolphin, Rowan Drilling, Weir Power & Industrial, Maersk and FMC Technologies. Auxetic materials, including auxetic yarns, are characterized by their negative Poisson’s Ratio. When stretched, unlike conventional materials, auxetic materials become thicker and stronger which can lead to solutions that provide better strength and or comfort.
