Adventure Theatre, founded in 1951, is the longest-running theatre program for children and families in the Washington metropolitan region and has been one of the main attractions at Glen Echo Park since 1971. Adventure Theatre currently serves over 50,000 children and families annually, focusing on the very youngest of theatre-goers. The theatre cultivates new generations of audiences and artists by creating memorable theatre experiences in an intimate and interactive environment. AT’s artistic programming focuses on interpretations of popular and classic children’s stories for the youngest theatre audiences starting from age two and up. AT has a thriving education program serving children and young teens which includes creative theatre arts classes, a book club, touring shows, afterschool classes and residencies at area schools.
