The Advocate is the local news source for four Dallas, Texas, neighborhoods: Lakewood/East Dallas, Lake Highlands, Oak Cliff, and Preston Hollow. We also have a digital and print publication in Plano, Texas. In our monthly magazines, daily websites and social media, and weekly email newsletters, we talk about neighborhood dining, schools, business, history, nonprofits, development and, most importantly, the stories of interesting people. The Advocate began with the monthly Lakewood/East Dallas magazine in 1991, followed a year later with the Lake Highlands magazine. We added our Preston Hollow magazine in 2000, Oak Cliff in 2008 and Plano in 2020.
