The African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) is a cultural institution in Philadelphia founded in 1976 during the Bicentennial to preserve, interpret, and exhibit African American heritage. It was established as the first museum funded and built by a major municipality for this purpose, tracing African American achievements and aspirations from pre-colonial times to the present. The museum presents the Black experience across a range of topics, including family life, the Civil Rights movement, arts and entertainment, sports, medicine, architecture, politics, religion, law and technology, with exhibitions housed in four galleries and an auditorium and organized around three themes: the African Diaspora, the Philadelphia Story, and the Contemporary Narrative.

Its mission is to engage diverse communities in appreciating the Black experience through art, history, and culture, and its vision is to be an integral asset in Philadelphia's cultural landscape with a meaningful impact on visitors. A notable 2023 development is the museum's collaboration with the City of Philadelphia to host Juneteenth events as part of the Wawa Welcome America festival, reflecting its active community partnerships.
