African Soul, American Heart is a small nonprofit based in Fargo, North Dakota, operating in the philanthropic fundraising services sector. The organization focuses on protecting, educating, and empowering orphaned girls from South Sudan. Following displacement caused by civil conflict in 2014 that damaged its boarding school in Duk Payuel, Jonglei State, the group relocated students to refugee camps across three countries and established a boarding facility in Moyo, East Africa, where staff provide housing, meals, clothing, medical care, and schooling support. The program aims to shield girls from forced marriage, educate them in core subjects and practical life skills, and empower them to become leaders who contribute to their communities. In 2018, the organization partnered with the New American Consortium for Wellness and Empowerment to broaden its advertising and outreach.
