🌽 AgriSmart, Inc. formed a public-private partnership with the Côte d’Ivoire government, leasing over one million acres of certified forests, over half of which is savannah land, to generate significant quantities of food, build productive capacity, assist with poverty reduction, and help restore degraded forests.

Effective August 2013, AgriSmart, Inc. was awarded over 1 million acres of land for farming and forestry through a partnership with the Society for Development of Forests (SODEFOR), a government agency in Cote d’Ivoire. SODEFOR has agreed to lease AgriSmart a 20 year tenancy of certified forests and land for cultivating corn and other agricultural products while creating better-than-average-wage jobs.

AgriSmart was founded to generate significant quantities of food, and to assist in eradicating poverty, while creating higher-than-average wage jobs for the people of Cote d’Ivoire and the region. Priority will be given to the betterment of crop management and postharvest practices to raise yields.
