The 2013 Work Stress Survey conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Everest College found that 83% of Americans are stressed by at least one thing at work, a sharp increase of 10 percentage points when compared with 2012 (73%).  Other statistics from Harris include:
•	35% of Americans say their stress level has increased in the past year.
•	69% of those with high stress say their stress increased in the past year
•	In the past five years, 60% of those surveyed have tried to reduce their stress; 53% are still trying.
•	Top stressors include money (69%), work (65%) and the economy (61%).
•	66% believe that stress has a moderate to very strong impact on physical health and 63% believe it has the same impact on their mental health.  
Even though there is a general agreement that persistent, high stress is unhealthy,  Americans still struggle to manage the relationship between stress and health in their lives with more than half (53%) of those surveyed who are actively trying to reduce stress still struggling to achieve this goal.
