AIM Independent Living Center is a nonprofit organization in the consumer services sector, based in Corning, New York. It serves people with disabilities, their families and friends, businesses that support them, and others with an interest in disability issues. It has operated for more than 30 years and centers its work on helping individuals live independently by providing education, advocacy, information, and referral to inform their self-directed choices. The center offers four core services—peer counseling, information and referral, independent living skills, and individual and systems advocacy—and its leadership and staff are largely people with disabilities, which informs its approach. AIM welcomes all disabilities and does not require any economic or other qualification to access its services.
