Al Khaleej Sugar Co runs a sugar refinery in Jebel Ali, Dubai, turning imported raw sugar into refined white sugar for distribution to more than 50 countries. Since production began in July 1995, it has grown to the largest standalone sugar refinery, recording a daily output of 7,270 tons in 2013 and currently operating at about 6,000 tons per day with plans to reach 7,000.
