Albany Medical Center, based in Albany, New York, is the region’s academic medical center and a major private employer in the Capital Region. The 766-bed facility provides comprehensive care across disciplines, including one of New York’s busiest emergency rooms and trauma centers, a children’s hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency department, adult and pediatric intensive care units, and organ transplant services. Albany Medical College supports the center through medical education, biomedical research, and operates the region’s largest physician practice.
