The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, based in the Bronx, is a leading center for basic science research, clinical investigation, and biomedical education within higher education. It supports a substantial academic community, with nearly 1,000 M.D., Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D. students and more than 2,000 full-time faculty members. The institution houses six NIH-funded research centers addressing cancer, intellectual and developmental disabilities, clinical and translational research, AIDS, and two focused on diabetes. In partnership with Montefiore Health System, Einstein advances translational research to shorten the path from discovery to patient care. A 2026 development highlights ongoing collaboration with Montefiore and related institutions to provide clinical rotations to medical students, illustrating the college’s integration within its regional academic network.
