The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens is a cultural institution in Winter Park, Florida, dedicated to preserving the home, studio, sculpture gardens, and a collection of more than 200 works by the Czech-American sculptor Albin Polasek (1879–1965). Established in 1961, the site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers guided tours that showcase Polasek’s life, his studio, and surrounding gardens, including the historic Capen House opened to the public in 2015. As a multi-faceted museum, it serves visitors interested in sculpture, art history, and historic preservation, and it hosts events such as the annual Winter Park Paint Out Plein Air Festival each April. The organization operates within the museums, historical sites, and zoos sector, inviting international and local audiences to engage with Polasek’s story of emigration, artistic achievement, and perseverance after a stroke. A recent development noted is the museum’s plan to host an international mosaic art exhibition and conference in the upcoming season.
