Alma del Mar Charter School is a K-8 public charter school network based in New Bedford, Massachusetts, operating within the education administration field. It aims to place each student on a path to college and to develop service-minded leaders through a demanding yet supportive, content-rich learning environment. The network serves students in a district where most public schools are among the lowest performing in the state and has demonstrated strong outcomes, with reading achievement exceeding district peers after fewer than three years and mathematics surpassing suburban peers. A notable characteristic is its inclusive approach, with over 30% of scholars receiving additional academic or behavioral support, and it has been nationally recognized for its work with English language learners. In 2023, Alma del Mar partnered with New Bedford Public Schools to operate its school nutrition program.
