Alokin’s flagship product is Lightning ShieldTM, a product that automatically and preemptively isolates electrical and electronic equipment from lightning ground potential rise “LGPR” and “Off-Voltage” events. Lightning ShieldTM protects sensitive equipment from LGPR by identifying conditions that lead to a lightning ground strike and isolating equipment from the AC power supply prior to the discharge of a lightning strike. By opening the AC circuit, it becomes isolated and protects in a similar manner to unplugging equipment. When the threat has passed, Lightning ShieldTM automatically re-establishes the AC power supply connection to the equipment. When voltages drift outside of a determined upper and lower limit, Lightning ShieldTM physically isolates equipment from the AC power supply to protect from the potentially damaging power supply, reestablishing connection when voltage is in a safe range.
Alokin offers optional Remote Monitoring (“RM”) software for Lightning ShieldTM through a software licensing agreement. RM allows users to monitor the equipment site status for AC voltage, DC battery back-up voltage, provides a log up to the last 5,000 events for LGPR, AC voltage sags, surges, transients, and DC low and high voltage events; RM can even activate a site generator from a remote location. RM is TCP/IP, HTTP/S, and SNMP supported and accessible to users through any browser based PC running XP or later.
