Alpenglow Sports is an original California Mountain Shop that has been providing locals and visitors with inspiration, local knowledge and the best gear to enjoy the great outdoors since 1973. Based in Tahoe City, we take pride in being community, socially and environmentally responsible to ensure Lake Tahoe stays one of the best places to play, visit, and live in California.

Roots in Outdoor Gear: 
Alpenglow Sports sells premium gear for all four seasons. We focus on human-powered backcountry exploration and quality above all else. Our selection of skiing, splitboarding, climbing, backpacking, and running gear is curated for adventures of all sizes. Athletes and community members need nutrition, clothing, inspiration, and equipment which we are thrilled to provide to our Tahoe City and Truckee communities.

Community Event Organizers:
Come to a Winter Speaker Series to hear amazing stories and connect with likeminded community. Everything we do connects our customers to community and knowledge that you can use to engage deeply with your outdoor pursuits. Alpenglow Sports raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for local non-profits through our Donor Party.

We do not exist to sell you gear. Alpenglow Sports serves the community first by fostering a friendly atmosphere in the shop and hosting philanthropic community events. In a sea of uniformity and big box business ethics, we believe in environmental and social responsibility.
