Alpha Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc. is a national civic and social organization based in Pomona, California, founded on the campus of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. It emerged in fall 1993 and became a formal reality on February 1, 1994, as the first Asian American–interest sorority at Cal Poly Pomona. The founders—Allex Choi, Candy Cunanan, Christine Nguyen, Sandie Rillera, Kolleen Kim, Grace Hsieh, and Jennifer Oku—sought to bring together women of diverse nationalities through friendship, service, and cultural awareness. Over the years, the organization has expanded to establish foundations in California, Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, Missouri, Colorado, Nevada, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, and Kansas. In August 2020, Alpha Phi Gamma partnered with RAINN Consulting Group to provide sexual misconduct and allyship training to its members.
