Altapure is a provider of products for high level disinfection to the medical and research community.
       As the medical community embraces the “end of the antibiotic era” it is imperative that only technology that meets the Environmental Protection Agency's performance definition of disinfection is utilized in the process to eliminate hospital acquired infections.  
      Altapure's AP-4 is a No-Touch High Level Disinfection System used for room size spaces in medical facilities where the elimination of Superbugs including C. difficile is desired.  The AP-4 provides a 100% Kill of Viruses / Bacteria / Spores.  Peer reviewed literature verifies that the AP-4 meets the EPA definition for disinfection, which is a log 6 kill in under 10 minutes (40 CFR 152.3).  The Altapure technology utilizes a chemistry that is not toxic to humans, degrades into water vapor and a vinegar smell while leaving no residue.    
   Hospitals are now looking for alternatives to UV light products, which have been shown not to be able to meet the EPA's performance standard for disinfection and sporicidal effect.   A kill level less than disinfection leaves a reservoir of viable pathogenic organisms that continue to propagate.
