AMERICA! first opened in 1988 as a street retail location in Old Town Alexandria, VA. The original AMERICA! concept featured products manufactured in the United States of America with an emphasis placed on items representing the unique and diverse industries and products indigenous to the fifty states. Over time, in response to customer demand, the product assortment focus changed to patriotic and politically-themed merchandise. Within the first five years, the Company opened two additional locations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area at Union Station and the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Mall. These locations remain in the store portfolio to this day. Through these street and mall locations, it became evident that AMERICA!’s merchandise had very strong appeal to visitors to the Washington, DC area which caused AMERICA! to pursue a location in the new terminal at Reagan Airport that opened in 1997. Today, you can find AMERICA! locations offering an impressive assortment of proprietary branded regional, political and patriotic gifts in major visitor destinations throughout the Baltimore-Washington area as well as BWI, Dulles, and Reagan National Airports. There are a total of twenty three locations including six at Newark Liberty International Airport and online at www.americastore.com. AMERICA!’s branded merchandise assortment aims to end a traveler’s search for the perfect gift or memento of the local area for all ages, a gift that is of great quality and value.
