American Augers, based in West Salem, Ohio, designs and manufactures underground construction equipment, including its American Augers and Trencor product lines. The company operates from a sizable facility and employs a mid-sized workforce focused on durable, reliable equipment for horizontal boring projects. Since its founding in 1970, it has prioritized mechanical and customer-driven design improvements to meet user needs. The company was among the first HDD manufacturers to move away from chain-based drives toward a rack-and-pinion carriage, a shift associated with smoother operation and longer system life.

American Augers maintains a dedicated parts and technical service department that provides around-the-clock support, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2024, the company introduced the DD600, a directional drill rig designed for demanding pipeline installations, reflecting ongoing product evolution to address challenging field conditions.
