The American Burn Association is a global professional education organization focused on burn care, research, and prevention. It unites a multidisciplinary community—physicians, nurses, therapists, researchers, social workers, firefighters, and burn-center hospitals—to advance patient well-being. The association spans more than 3,000 members across the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and supports education, research, and quality-of-care initiatives. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the ABA operates within the hospitals and health care industry with a mission to improve the lives of those affected by burn injuries by advancing prevention, rehabilitation, and patient safety. In April 2026, the Wound Healing Foundation, in partnership with Urgo Medical North America and the ABA, announced the Marty Robson Burn Wound Infection Research Grant, a $15,000 grant to support innovative burn wound infection research.
