The American Council on Germany is an independent, nonpartisan nonprofit founded in 1952 to strengthen German-American relations. Based in New York City, it engages across generations to deepen understanding of Germany, Europe, and the transatlantic partnership. It runs programs that address current economic, political, and social challenges to foster mutual understanding, including the American-German Young Leaders Conference and study tours on topics such as workforce development, social cohesion, agriculture, and climate change.

The council convenes professionals from Germany, the United States, and other countries for policy discussions with experts on transatlantic and global issues in New York City, Washington, Berlin, and through its Eric M. Warburg Chapters across the United States. In 2020, it launched online Transatlantic Town Halls: German-American Mayors Forum under WunderbarTogether USA 2020, a series funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by Goethe-Institut.
