American Dance & Music is a Santa Barbara, California–based performing arts organization that combines education and performance. Its School provides morning classes for adults in ballet and modern dance across beginner to advanced levels, taught by founder Carrie Diamond and Susan Alexander, with some sessions accompanied by live music, and it seeks space to expand its adult offerings. The AD&M Performance Group has presented contemporary ballet in Santa Barbara since 2006, including a residency at the Lobero Theatre in 2010 and a range of community-focused performances and outreach activities.

Moving To Learn is the organization’s educational outreach program for children, delivering on-site elementary school dance residencies for Title I schools. Starting with a single school in 2009, it has expanded to three partner schools, serving roughly 600 students. Through these programs, the organization addresses community needs, including underserved youth and their families, and positions itself within the local performing arts and education landscape.
