American Hiking Society is the only national voice for hikers, dedicated to promoting and protecting America's hiking trails, the natural lands around them, and the hiking experience.  Our highly-successful trail stewardship programs encourage Americans to connect with nature in both urban and rural settings -- achieving significant, measurable results. Each year, our Volunteer Vacations and National Trails Day® programs bring more than 150,000 people onto America's trails for outdoor recreation and trail stewardship.  American Hiking Society also administers the National Trails Fund, which is the largest national, privately-supported grants program that provides funding to grassroots organizations working to establish, protect, and maintain foot trails in America.
