Founded in April 1970, American Office Machines, Inc. started from modest beginnings from only a handful of customers and a small amount of office space in 1970.  We have grown in 48 years to over 5,000 customers and over 17,000 square feet of office space at our office and warehouse at 2609 Ridgelake Drive in Metairie, Louisiana where our corporate headquarters also has been based since 1979.

We started out in the typewriter business with great success and were nationally recognized by IBM as Dealer of the Year in 1989. With the advent of the IBM Personal Computer in the early 1980's we moved toward the ever changing PC, printer, shredder, and office supply business.

We have been recognized by Xerox with the Gold Medal of Excellence from 2003-2007, 2010-2015 and the Platinum Medal of Excellence from 2008-2009. We have been recognized by MBM (finishing products and DestroyIt shredders) with the top dealer award in 2005 and 2006.

We sell everything for the office: equipment, office supplies, toner/ink cartridges, janitorial products, recycled products, healthcare/medical supplies, breast cancer awareness products, safety/security products, breakroom products…
 
We also offer all types of repair service to take care of most office machines and computer equipment. Onsite service agreements are available to budget your service related issues on a year or multi-year basis.  We are an authorized service center for Brother, Fellowes, Lexmark, MBM, SEM and Xerox.  Our service technicians have over 95 years of combined experience working on office equipment.

Through all of the industry and economic changes over the last 48 years, there has been one constant at American Office Machines, SERVICE. SERVICE, to you the customer has been and will always be our main reason for doing business. Serving the customer in the best possible way is what we strive for each day at American Office Machines.
