Every day, we provide the support, education, and research that will help everyone impacted by Parkinson's disease (PD) live life to the fullest. APDA empowers individuals and families by offering vital programs and services that promote hope and optimism, foster meaningful connections, and build a strong sense of community. Guided by our tagline, "Strength in optimism. Hope in progress." APDA is dedicated to equipping people with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate life with PD. In addition to providing patient-centered education, support, and wellness, we invest in groundbreaking research—funding promising clinicians and scientific projects aimed at uncovering the causes of PD, advancing treatments, and ultimately finding a cure. APDA serves our 5-state region with vital support, education, and resources. We empower our PD community through Live Well symposiums, Parkinson’s Education Days, PD Essentials, weekly eblasts, and the locally produced Parkinson Pathfinder magazine. Free online exercise classes provide movement options crucial for managing PD, while wellness workshops teach practical strategies for daily life. The Financial Hardship Fund helps ease the burden of this chronic disease. Our on-staff social worker offers personalized guidance and connects individuals to essential resources. APDA’s multi-week programs—PRESS™ for the newly diagnosed, PRESS ON™ for advancing PD, and Care Partner Connection™ for caregivers—provide education, connection, and hope.
