American Preparedness is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-run, organization, and a leading manufacturer & distributor of high quality emergency kits for individuals, families, govt, businesses, and relief organizations, founded on January 1, 1981 in Seattle, WA. 

35+ years later, our goal to bring quality emergency preparedness kits and products that are environmentally friendly to the community, continues to be our driving passion. We have become a leading manufacturer and distributor of emergency preparedness kits for government, military, businesses, disaster relief organizations, individuals, and families.

We take pride in being the first to produce the modern emergency preparedness kits through partnership with the national American Red Cross and their many chapters. Our focus on excellence is demonstrated by the review and approval of all our kits by the American Red Cross, through their PDM certification program. 

It is our honor to employ military veterans and disabled veterans, and endeavor to have the majority of the products in our kits made in America.

Our heart is in the community! Besides continuing to work with the American Red Cross, we have donated thousands of emergency kits to low income families and school kids through our "Kits for Kids" program, and work with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary to provide free kits to low income military families. Other community partnerships include Meals on Wheels, Senior Services, and Lifelong Aids Alliance. We are honored to be recognized by the Under-Secretary of Veterans Affairs for our service to the community.
