ARE provides track, bridge and civil engineering services to Class I, Class II, Shortline and Public Agency rail clients throughout the United States. We specialize in track and bridge design, bridge inspection and load rating, bridge management services to comply with FRA (49CFR Parts 213 and 237) bridge safety standards, environmental, stormwater and onsite construction management. 

ARE recently acquired Media Wing/Airshark, which adds Commercial UAV/Drone flight services for: bridge inspection, HD Photo, Photogrammetry, Video, Thermal and LiDAR capabilities. 

We currently provide these services for LAMTA, OCTA, Watco Companies (30 railroads in 24 states), Genesee & Wyoming, Inc. (Southern Region), Progressive Rail, Adrian & Blissfield Rail Road, Nebraska Central Railroad, Lake State Railway, Norfolk & Portsmouth Belt Line, Northwestern Pacific Railroad, Niles Canyon Railroad and several others. 

ARE’s railroad bridge division is led by David R. Anderson, PE. He holds professional engineering registrations in many states, and is registered through National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) both nationally and internationally. Mr. Anderson has worked for numerous short line railroads in his 40 year career as a railroad bridge engineer in responsible charge of bridge inspection and rating.
