The American-Scandinavian Foundation is a publicly supported nonprofit based in New York City that promotes educational, cultural, and professional exchange between the United States and the Nordic countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees with ties to both the United States and Scandinavia, and the Nordic Heads of State serve as Patrons, underscoring its cross-regional focus. In March 2025, ASF announced the opening of its 9th annual competition for Scandinavian Folk Arts & Cultural Traditions in the Upper Midwest, reflecting ongoing program activity.
