The American Turkish Association of Washington DC (ATA-DC) is a small nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC. Established in 1965, it stands as one of the longer-standing Turkish American organizations in the United States. Its core purpose is to promote Turkish culture in the United States and to foster friendship between Turkish and American people, supporting a vibrant Turkish American community in the DC metropolitan area through educational, social and cultural initiatives.

The association advances its mission through a diverse slate of programs spanning culture, education, and community life. Activities include the Annual DC Turkish Festival, Turkish Heritage Month, Turkish Restaurant Week, and International Women’s Day celebrations, along with the Annual Teacher’s Workshop and Turkish Heritage Night at the Verizon Center. It also runs the Turkish Culinary School, the Future Leaders Series, and the ATANews community magazine to engage members and the wider public.
