AMI Bearings was began by Japanese bearing manufacturer Asahi Seiko Co., Ltd to be the US headquarters and distributor of Asahi Seiko Bearings.   Asahi Seiko began its business in May 1928 as a leading worldwide bearing manufacturer. In the later years Asahi Seiko further expanded its business field by penetrating into other fields such as mechanical clutch, air clutch, air clutch-brake, and linear motion equipment.
