AmpSurf is a California-based non-profit organization that provides adaptive surf therapy and other outdoor activities to people with disabilities and their families. Operating since 2003, the organization seeks to promote education, rehabilitation, and inclusive participation through its Learn to Surf Therapy programs and related initiatives. It serves a broad target audience including children, veterans, first responders, and individuals with a range of disabilities, such as amputations, visual impairments, PTSD, and quadriplegia, aiming to improve physical wellbeing and mental health through ocean-based activities. AmpSurf runs four regional chapters across the United States in California, New England, New York, and the Pacific Northwest, enabling access to its programs for those who may not otherwise experience adaptive surf therapy. The organization is active in partnerships and events, having hosted major events such as the 2021 World Para Surfing Championships at Pismo Beach and collaborating in program development with the ISA for adaptive surfing instructor certification.
