The City Council has recognized a need to refocus the mission of the Anaheim sister city relationships and expand the objectives of the program in the hopes of realizing more meaningful benefit to both the City of Anaheim and our partners. Throughout its existence, the sister city experience in Anaheim has traditionally been focused on a combination of cultural/educational exchange and knowledge sharing. While the City recognizes and appreciates the value that the cultural exchange program has brought to our community, we realize that the development of economic benefits and international commerce should also be a key objective in our sister city activities and interactions moving forward.
